Crazy fog at the Coast!

12 12 2010

Yesterday, I went out in the middle of the day to take some photos since the fog was doing some “interesting” things. Got to Dana Point Harbor and it was “socked-in.” Took a quick trip to Costco and the fog started to clear. I decided to head up the hill to overlook the harbor – at first I couldn’t see 10 feet – just a blanket of white. Packed up all my gear again and drove around. Half an hour later the fog started to clear (sun came out really strong). Ran back up to the area over the harbor and captured this image. It’s a HDR series (5 photos). Notice how the fog bank is laying just outside the harbor – yes, it looked just like the photo! It was really weird, 15 minutes before the scene was just white. Shot a few other locations (I’ll post the best ones in a few days).
